The context

Output at industrial scale

Between 2014 and 2017, YBNL didn't slow down to enjoy the win — it doubled the pace. An album a year, each one stacked with features that read like a map of where Nigerian music was heading: Phyno, Wande Coal, Burna Boy, Don Jazzy, Reminisce. OLIC — Olamide Live in Concert — sold out rooms and proved street-hop could headline, not just guest-verse.

Then in 2017, "Wo!" turned a dance challenge into a cultural moment. Shot in Bariga and built around the #WoChallenge, the video helped push the shaku shaku dance from Agege's streets into the national mainstream — Wizkid himself called it the biggest Nigerian song of the year.

Street OT wins Album of the Year

Fourth album lands, later winning Album of the Year at The Headies 2015. Guinness Nigeria also unveils him as the face of its "Made of Black" campaign in 2014.

2015

2 Kings & Eyan Mayweather

A collaborative album with Phyno, then a 21-track fifth solo album — Album of the Year at the NEAs.

2016

The Glory

Sixth album, featuring Phyno, Wande Coal and Burna Boy — NEA Album of the Year in 2017, with a Headies Best Rap Album nomination the year after.

2017

Wo! & Lagos Nawa

A dance challenge, a viral video shot in Bariga, and Wizkid calling it the biggest song of the year. Globacom also signs him as a brand ambassador in 2017.
