Rapsodi
Olamide's debut arrived as a statement rather than an introduction: a Yoruba-language rap record, produced almost entirely by ID Cabasa's Coded Tunes, in a market that assumed indigenous rap had a ceiling. Rapsodi didn't just clear that ceiling — it moved the goalposts for every rapper who came after.
The lead single "Omo To Shan" — with a young Wizkid on the hook — became a radio fixture across Lagos, while guest spots from 9ice, Reminisce and Pheelz read like a map of where Nigerian street music was heading next. A Best Rap Album nomination at the 2012 Headies followed, arriving the same year Olamide left Coded Tunes to found YBNL Nation. Rapsodi is the last record of the Upstart era — and the opening argument for everything after it.
