UY Scuti

Named after one of the largest known stars — and, he said, after his son. A fitting title for the elder-statesman chapter. In March 2021 he hinted he was done making albums; weeks later he announced UY Scuti anyway. Ten tracks, released that June: pop, reggae and Afro-pop over the dense street-hop blueprints of the previous decade.

"Rock" led the singles. Guests stayed lean — Fave, Jaywillz, Layydoe, Phyno — and the album peaked on Billboard's World Albums chart. Pitchfork and Pulse both filed reviews; the bigger story was the pattern: retirement talk, then another record. The empire's founder was still writing.
